Shape-Ups (EOC 5)
Today people just do not know what to come up with anymore. Over the years there have been some horrible products in the market but of course there can never be one to many. The latest one is my opinion are the shape-ups. A tennis shoe that can shape up your legs without one having to do any exercise. The worst thing is that is not just a tennis shoes anymore, now they come in sandals for the summer and a day to day basis. I think this product just like the Crocs will be in demand for a while and be quite profitable its going to die down. This type of item seems to be targeting people who are to 'busy' to go to a gym or don't want to start a diet. Also, trying to introduce them into an everyday lifestyle is a mistake i believe. No women with a bit of fashion sense or common sense for that matter would wear them on a day to day basis. Another bad product that came out was a lip gloss that is supposed to plump up your lips and keep them soft. That sounded great to me at first but there is a problem. The lip gloss smells like rotten fish. Now i don't know about anyone else but i would not like to go out on a date per say and have my lips smelling like fish. I don't think any girl would like that, therefore, the fish smelling lip gloss, will not be in demand anytime soon :)

Advertising and Marketing (EOC 4)
Many people make the mistake of thinking Advertising and Marketing are the same thing. They are, however, two complete different words.
Advertising: a public promotion of some product or service, the business of drawing public attention to goods and services
Marketing: selling: the exchange of goods for an agreed sum of money, the commercial processes involved in promoting and selling and distributing a product or service;
As you can tell they are two completely different words, however, they are as equally important in a business. One could not work without the other. They are both fun and they required a lot of work. They go side by side. To make advertisement work you need to know your marketing. Determine who your customers are and focus on them. Know what you are truly selling, which is probably not just the product but an easier lifestyle, or natural beauty, etc.
Marketing is also done by steps. You need to analyze the product and the situation. Next you need to form a strategy and you need to make decisions towards your product. Finally you need to take control of the product.

Strong or Weak Dollar (EOC3)
I think America should always have a average dollar. If we have a strong dollar the country gets hurt and if its a weak dollar the country gets hurt too, so its never a win-win situation. With a strong dollar, other countries will stop their exporting with us and they will rush to other countries where they can get things cheaper. On the other hand, if we had a weak dollar it wouldn't be worth anything. A weak dollar can be quite beneficial for other countries but it would just end up hurting our country. It would hurt the people, jobs and other thing in general.
Customer Service (EOC 2)
As a girl i love to shop. However, there have been a few experiences when that shopping experience is not the best it can be and there are times when it is just great. Every store focuses on good customer service, however not all of them go by the book or maybe its just certain employees. Anyways, about a week ago i went to sears and bought a couple of jeans. That same day my family and I were leaving to California for a family event. It was not until later that i realized i was charged and extra pair of jeans. As so I came back from Cali. i went over to sears and explained the situation to them. The customer service representative gave me a weird look and said there was nothing she could do to help me because i should have gone back to the store right away. Again i explained to her that i was out of town but that i was sure that if they looked at their camera's they would know i was not lying. Every receipt has a date and time. I should know. I work in retail :).Again the associate said that she was positive there was nothing that could be done about but she would call a manager anyways.The manager was very friendly. I explained my situation and she completely understood. Unlike the unfriendly cashier she explained to me that i would take a while to check the camaras and so on which i completely understood since im familiar with the process.In the end I ended up getting my money back but not without first having to go through a bad time with someone with bad customer service skills. The only good thing was dealing withe the manager who had excellent customer service skills so it was a bad experience at first but with a 'happy ending' :)

Passion for Fashion (EOC !)
My name is Ninfa Daisy Chavez. I've never really liked my name until recently but now i love it. Its unique in its own way just like me. I am a FRM (Fashion & Retail Management) Major at the Art Institute of Las Vegas. I am very passionate about my career and i am thirsty for success. Right now i currently have a job at Burlington Coat Factory. Overall its a great job. I get to experience first hand all that involves retail. I have been working there for about a year now and i have to go up in the company and branch out from there.
Fashion has been a huge part of my life since i can remember. Fashion is an Art and that is the way i see it. One day i will owe my own line of boutiques and if i ever get better at drawing i might design :) I haven't figured out a name for my store yet so any ideas are welcome :)
